So excited to share this dirty horchata recipe with you! Because let’s face it, anything with coffee in it makes me happy! Creamy horchata flavored with vanilla and cinnamon topped with a shot of espresso. This is truly such a unique drink!

What is a dirty horchata?

  • The classic horchata is a sweet cinnamon drink made with made from soaking rice and a cinnamon stick in water overnight then adding sugar and milk, but this recipe has espresso in it, which is why its called dirty horchata.

How long will Horchata last?

  • Horchata is best within 2 days of making. Store in refrigerator

Tips for the best horchata

  • Give the rice and cinnamon stick enough time to soak in the water.
  • To give you a better flavor use whole cinnamon sticks, ground cinnamon won’t give you the same flavor
  • Horchata is best served over ice
